Not Sir Paul’s first instrument; merely a local re-enactment
And a very pricey song it went for too. The first guitar that Sir Paul McCartney strummed, which belonged to his friend Ian James, sold for US$614,000 at auction last week. The new owner is an Arizona man who owns a collectable cars auction house. Story here at Reuters.
For that price, we hope they threw in a fresh pack of strings.
