Goldenhorse

Here’s an update from Kirsten Morell of Goldenhorse, who are currently touring Germany. So far they’ve played at four big rock festivals and are in the middle of a German club tour. So does Goldenhorse already have a following there?

“We are starting to,” says Morell. “It’s the same the world over – you get onto radio and immediately something happens.”

“We have worked hard on remastering songs to go on an album for this territory. These are from our first two albums. The single is up and running in Germany and we’ll release the album there and we have a date for London in October.”

Morell says she tries to get out and take a look around each place they go to. “Beautiful old buildings here… well that’s the ones that weren’t bombed in the war.”

Touring is often tough on a band and accommodation can vary wildly from place to place, but so far Morell is impressed with the German hospitality. “People really respect musicians… there are even showers and the like.”

“We have made friends with a few bands but this tour we will get to hear lots of local music.”

Morell says it’s hard to think past the current tour: “There’s a lot of Germany to do… there are 84 million people here!”
