    Well, the better half and I found it remarkably easy to get through the holiday:

    1) Went to a small family BBQ on Christmas Eve, where we didn’t get toasted or eat our own weight in pudding.

    2) Spent the blessed day watching our Christmas presents – the second series of Dr. Who and Martin Scorsese’s much under-rated Age of Innocence.

    3) Rinse and repeat for New Year’s Eve – which we passed reading our other Christmas presents (Roy Jenkin’s bio of Churchill for the BH, and a couple of Georgette Heyers for me.

    3) Are now pleasantly anticipating two weeks in Australia at the end of the month.
