Cause of death: Anna Nicole Smith’s autopsy concluded there was no foul play involved and that she died of a drug overdose while having a viral flu. Most of the nine drugs were prescription, including a powerful sedative. The combined toxicity of the sleeping medication, chloral hydrate, and the other drugs including anti-anxiety Valium, Klonopin, and Ativan, doesn’t paint a happy picture of her last days. Contributing causes cited were viral flu and an abscess that had developed on her buttock as a result of injections. Full autopsy makes for macabre, but fascinating reading — and especially sad are the details of her numerous tattoos.
