Video: The Onion Reports on Immigration
posted by Ana Samways at 7:28 amBefore The Daily Show and The Colbert Report, there was the world’s finest satirical newspaper The Onion , which has now thrown itself into the online video moshpit.
Complete with fake newsreaders and reporters, the Onion News Network will offer weekly clips that parody the 24-hour news genre and marketing itself as, “faster, harder, scarier and all-knowing.”
The first batch of videos includes a report on immigration — a senior executive loses his job to a Mexican who arrived in the country two years ago on the back of a melon truck and doesn’t speak English.

There was a time when work would stop every time the onion.com site was updated… T. Herman Zwiebel’s editorials were classics of their genre. This, though… Chris Morris (Brass Eye, The Day Today) did news parody so very much better. Track down the real thing on YouTube. Enjoy.
