AAAALEC.final.jpgAlec Baldwin has fired back after his ex-wife, Kim Basinger, released the threatening voicemail message from Baldwin to their 11 year-old daughter, Ireland. A family law judge was so alarmed after hearing the tape, she has temporarily barred Baldwin from having any contact with his child. Baldwin says the voicemail Basinger provided has been doctored and he denies ever calling his daughter a “thoughtless little pig”. Here’s the original message, according to Baldwin…

Adult issues impacting on the child, anyone? If he really made this tape, he is even more of an idiot than it first appeared!

  • Ana says:

No, humour site ‘This Just In’ is taking the piss. Mr Baldwin is apologising all over the place.

Alec Baldwin is an idiot and a bully!! I’ve never been a big fan of his, mainly because of his bad temper that can lead him to lash out at people who can’t easily defend themselves. Cases in point his ex-wife and his daughter Ireland. The way he sounded was that of an out of control jerk who if he does not use child abuse for his parental factors, he sure sounded like someone wanting to cross the line, once he met up with his daughter Ireland. I side with your ex-wife on this one.

I remember that time you were on a radio station where you were having an on air 3 way discussion where a reporter named Richard Johnson was on the air with whom you have an adverserial relationship, you mentioned you did not want to fight Mr Johnson and when he said he wasn’t scared, name the place and the time, you didn’t respond, what’s the matter Mr Baldwin can’t handle someone your own size?

OK, am I the only person who feels a sneaking amount of sympathy for Alec Baldwin? First, let’s make it clear that I don’t think the version of that voicemail doing the rounds is anything less than that distasteful in the extreme. And it’s always sad seeing two alleged adults using their children as offensive weapons in a far from amicable divorce.

But… There are two things that really push all my buttons: I’m neurotic about tardiness. Blowing off appointments, IMO, is plain bloody rude and shows you have zero respect for others. And I have to wonder why owning a cellphone seems to be viewed by too many as an open licence to treat everyone around them like s**t.

  • ming says:

Um, Craig, the kid is 11.

  • Craig Ranapia says:

    Ming:

And your point is? While I’m not going to condone Baldwin going feral like that, it wasn’t some cell-stalking in the middle of the night but a scheduled call under the terms of the custody agreement. FFS, if the man could clear his schedule was it really that unreasonable to expect someone to answer.

Sorry, Ming, but I don’t think you’re ever too young for basic good manners.

Like I said, she is 11. Sure, her mother was probably behind it. But 11! I think a little laxity in appointment keeping is probably excusable.
