Germany Is A Good Country For Business
posted by Ana Samways at 8:43 pmWe’re used to the ad campaign slogans that tourism throws our way: “100% Pure New Zealand”, “Clean and green” as well as Australia’s “Where the bloody hell are you” and Norfolk Island’s “See you in the courthouse”. But here’s a very different approach –a 1970s TV commercial from German airline Lufthansa trying to lure international businessmen to their permissive society for a few drinks and a spot of philandering…

Back in the day, before faxes were ubiquitous, I worked as a courier transporting documents around the globe. Lufthansa was held to stand for “Let Us F[ornicate with] The Hostess And Not Say Anything”; Qantas was “Queers And Nymphomaniacs Travelling As Stewards”. I flew mostly between Brazil and the then West Germany, and so was usually on “Varias Aeromocas Sao Putas”, which I leave untranslated.

Already looked, can’t see one. A shame it was taken down, it wasn’t that racy and it was a great time capsule…
