Flight of the Conchords Episode 1
posted by Steven Shaw at 9:57 pmNew Zealand comedians Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie, better known as Flight of the Conchords, are set to achieve even more international notoriety through their upcoming HBO TV series. Set in New York’s East Village, the show follows their attempts to conquer America one fan at a time.
Although the first season doesn’t debut in the USA until mid-June, they’re already getting name-checked on sites like celebrity gossip blog Best Week Ever. Here’s a sneak preview of the first episode, which has just gone live on their MySpace page. Fans may recognise the songs — as well as NZ comedian Rhys Darby, who co-stars as Murray the inept band manager.

I am ancient but I found this amusing – made me reminiscent of my own youth. The problems stay the same….

Amazing. They are genius. It’s a pity that nobody gave them a chance to make a show in NZ, so they’ve had to go overseas.
