Trailer: Hairspray
posted by Steven Shaw at 3:00 pmThe adaptation of the hit Broadway play, which was in turn inspired by the 1988 John Waters film (Ricky Lake, Debbie Harry, Sonny Bono and Divine starred in that one). Set in 1962, it’s about chubby teenager Tracy Turnblad (Nikki Blonsky), who will do anything to get on a local Baltimore TV dance show, even if it means rebelling against her parents Edna (John Travolta in drag) and Wilbur (Christopher Walken). NZ release date is 13 September.
