Ready To Roll?
posted by Ana Samways at 3:18 pmI remember all these chart toppers like they were yesterday; and I remember the brown corduroy beanbag I used to sit on to watch it. The RTR top 20 countdown from 1983, including snazzy intro music and titles (Thanks Nicola). More at Classicnz on YouTube.

I was quietly reminiscing, until Dave and the Dynamos then suddenly I was transported back to Manurewa 1983, sitting in the lounge on the brown carpet, with my Charlie Browns on…(back then things were mostly brown it would seem..)

I agree with Leah… i was having a nice old stroll down memory lane until Dave & The Dynamos flashed up on the screen… i think i pulled several facial muscles wincing.

Oh yeah…New Order’s “Blue Monday”. That was in the charts for ages. I still remember wagging school to go and buy the 12″ of it from 256 Records in Queen St.

ha, everyone around my age remembers that, it was THE thing to watch on the weekend
although i’m reminded that the earlier logo was not as neon and shiny, was more like the early eighties doctor who titles.
