Bearded capWe’re in the last week of “Movember” — the fund-raiser for prostate cancer (go here to donate) — so here’s the perfect present for anyone you know who is taking part.

“Beard caps” refers to a traditional cap called “lambshed-hood” used by Icelandic farmers, who in heavy snowstorms had to walk long distances between their sheds and neigbouring farms.

It’s made by Icelandic design collective Vik Prjonsdottir, and will keep the southerly chill off your moustache, beard, or indeterminate face-fuzz, creating balaclava-like warmth without the home invader/freedom fighter vibe.

They’re made from 100 per cent Icelandic wool and available in three different colours and shapes. (via Retro To Go)
