[...] Here is a bizarre little nugget I found on the Spare Room- a comic to help little christian kids understand what gay people are, and how we are infiltrating society. I can only feel pity for kids getting these crazy messages. Read the full somic strip (if you can stomach it) here. [...]

Hi Ana,
You have misrepresented the article. Take a second to try to understand the group you are mocking. They don’t believe that God hates fags. They believe that God hates homosexuality.
Your reaction to this comic is based on your perspective as a person who is gay or as someone who identifies with what you’d call a ‘pro-gay’ perspective. However, your treatment of this as ‘crazy’ shows that you are the same as those who wrote the comics in that you are unable to accept that their beliefs about the human condition are just as valid as yours. You don’t really know the truth of our existence in the same way that they don’t. Why disallow the validity of their beliefs by tagging them as crazy? You are a humanist – or at least some form of anti-theist. You have a moral schema based on assumptions in the same way they do. And you judge them and their children in the same way that they judge you – EXCEPT for the fact that they judge the ’sin’ eg. homosexuality while you actually judge the person.
Please seriously consider what I have said and think of the people who YOU might offend when you say these things. Judgment is a double-edged sword. Don’t condemn people for wanting to raise their children based on their beliefs.

Mike is lying. God hates gays and they are an abomination in his eyes. I have contemplated leaving Christianity to become a Scientologist because they don’t have as many rules and do not hate people based on sexual orientation.

Actually, Ana just says the cartoon is ridiculous. Which is is. I mean, no gays EVER had haircuts as bad as they guys they have pictured!
Mike – that cartoon clearly IS judging those two men (who are presented as preening, effeminate losers with devils on their shoulders). So your ‘hate the sin, love the sinner’ argument is foundless. And if anyone is casting the first stone, it ain’t the people who are mocking this cartoon, it’s those who wrote it.
Liz – yes, please go to Scientology. Tom Cruise needs all the support he can get!

Mike, considering this is a Chick tract, I would be entirely confortable in describing it as mad. Barking, grade-A, international class lunacy as per usual from Herr Chick. Perhaps if people concentrated more on jack Chick’s criminal record rather than his fiery hatred of anyone not a godfearing Protestant. I like the RC site with the kids dressed up as bishops, though. And the drooling irony of the line about “You don’t want to promote pedophilia, do you?” while parading small children dressed as priests.

Mike. Just because your imaginary friend hates homosexuality doesn’t mean that that belief should be offered any greater respect than a belief that there are fairies at the bottom of the garden.
February 11th, 2008 at 12:08 pm
Oi! What’s wrong with having fairies in the garden? It’s better than having gnomes…
February 11th, 2008 at 12:17 pm
Fairies make great garden designers…

That’s ok Mike. Just make sure you give them a balanced view of the world.

I’d be wary of scientology Liz. I’m not saying don’t, but take a time to do a bit of research. The worldwide efforts by Anonymous have uncovered a lot new information on this so called ‘Church’. You can find most of the public findings on the enturbulation forums http://www.enturbulation.org
Also, consider the Free Zone and Rons Orgs, they practice scientology but do not charge anywhere near what the Church of Scientology charges for enlightment.

I’m the real Liz Shaw. It seems that someone posted on here using my name to try and discredit me or something. I was a scientologist briefly but I didn’t actually know this forum existed until tonight.
