Miss GlucinaRachel Glucina, the Herald On Sunday’s gossip columnist, appeared on 20/20 on Thursday night and revealed how she was hurt other media suggested she may have slept with Mick Jagger to get a story, yet she took no responsibility for the hurt she caused by wrongly suggesting Trevor Mallard was having an affair with a high profile netballer. With her chubby chipmunk face and cute lisp, you’d think butter wouldn’t melt. Even with the hypocrisy revealed, I’m not sure if it’s covering for ruthlessness or general dumbness. See the awfulness here.

Speaking of 20/20, this is a much more interesting story: How people in Alabama reacted when they saw a gay couple kissing in front of them. Did it make a difference if it was two men or two women?

An unsigned band from Manchester decided to make use of the city’s CCTV cameras to make their music video, managing to get the footage under the Freedom of Information Act.

Only the BBC could get away with this headline (above), for this story.

Hiroshima: Ten never-before-published photographs illustrating the immediate aftermath of the Hiroshima bombing. Unlike most photos of the Hiroshima bombing, these dramatically convey the human as well as material destruction unleashed by the atomic bomb. In 1945, the nuclear weapon Little Boy was dropped on Hiroshima by the crew of the American B-29 bomber Enola Gay, directly killing an estimated 80,000 people. By the end of the year, injury and radiation brought total casualties to 90,000-140,000, which is similar in scale to the Myanmar cyclone.

The driver of a 1997 Honda Civic that struck and killed a dog is suing the dog’s owners for damage to his car.

turns out the Hiroshima photos were fakes (or, at least, not of Hiroshima)…

Since making these photographs publicly available, I have received reliable proof that at least some of these photos are actually of the 1923 Kanto earthquake. It appears that the Hoover Archives have been deceived and the the designation of the collection was incorrect. I take full responsibility for my own failure to take additional steps to verify that the original archival designation was correct. I have removed the photographs until and unless their source can be verified.

I used to work with her. Trust me, it’s not general dumbness, if you catch my drift.

BTW, perfect timing for the kid-trip; right on the cymbal crash!
