Kissing Strangers and Other Choice Links

Iranian photo-grapher Ashkan Sahihi photographed himself tongue-diving strangers — both men and women. “Besides gender, the kissing partners span different ethnic backgrounds. The result is an obvious social commentary on sexuality and race. Differences in gender, sexuality, race, religion, background, it all does not matter. We are all human and we should love one another.”
Useful sites: A website that’ll nag you to go to the gym or contact your mother via email … and another one where you can search the criminal history of anyone in the US.
How to be interesting.
Video link: The always excellent Dan News has a couple of clips when Sunrise Australia had a chat with Sunrise New Zealand last week after an Aussie reader visiting NZ alerted them to the Kiwi version … Then here’s what happened on Aussie Sunrise after the NZ team had gone.
Fox News’ The O’Reilly Factor in 1 Minute – saves time.

Scripted animosity: To promote the Red Bull Soundclash — when two bands from opposing camps play music at each other in a gimmicky metaphorical fight, these YouTubes have appeared. No New Zealanders make Time magazine’s list of the Top 100 Olympic Atheletes To Watch, but Tom Daly, a 14-year-old diver and Britain’s youngest Olympian in 48 years, does.
Video: I don’t usually like short films (they’re often pretentious) but I was really touched by this short; The Story of the Sign (dur 4 mins) by Alonso Alvarez won the Short Film Online Competition at Cannes 2008

I was surprised by how grossed out I was by the kissing shots. I suppose kissing looks really disgusting when you’re not the one doing the kissing.

Most days I check your youtube link, todays is amazing. Thank you! ‘The Story of the Sign’ is a wonderful short film with a message to all. Every action has a reaction, and every choice we make, no matter how small, effects another.
