Fiddy facts about Obama: He only paid off his student loan four years ago and he collects Spider-Man and Conan the Barbarian comics. There’s two, more here.

Oxford University has compiled a list of the 10 most irritating expressions… Any they missed?

80s nostalgia: Steven Seagal and his then wife, the uber-lipped Kelly LeBrock, show you how to open a bottle of wine, in this scene from an unknown programme, which look like it was shot on the Days Of Our Lives set.

OK, so I’m confused – what’s noteworthy about this? Clicked on More Images, looked at all the images… what am I looking for??

  • Julia says:

The Times Online headline is fake! The actual headline read ‘Maoris prepare to wield power after polls close’ – no mention of Australia. The correspondent who wrote the article is actually based in Auckland and got all her facts right – the article is about how many Maori are switching their votes to National after years of voting Labour. Don’t beleive everything you see on the internet!

  • Tiny says:

Dourn, I am guessing that one of the homes features is a family, is not norm.
Personally, I would rather have the cars.

  • Ana says:

Dourn, they have ammended their listing, taking off the two rooms with the disco ball and two lone stripper poles. WHat a shame. And Julia…the headline is not a fake. I saw it and took a screen grab. The headline has since been changed, once they realised their mistake. It is no reflection on the writer as the publishing process dictate that sub editors come up with the headlines for the supplied copy.

try playing ‘jam as many irrritating expressions into one sentence as you possibly can ‘to be honest,(a top ten expression if ever there was one) parking your ambulance at grass roots level at the bottom of a steep learning curve during a game of two halves is not going to see us moving forward’

    Re: Australian Unique Home

Hi Dourn, I think that the point of the post is to show that the images are not from the same house. At least the kitchen!! In one picture is this long kitchen and in other is an open plan kitchen!!!.. And I think that even the living rooms are from different houses. It is showing how the pictures from two almost similar houses were mixed up. Some might find it funny !!

  • Lex says:

I guess having stripper poles and a disco ball would explain why the other rooms looked rather ‘un-lived-in’ – being Australia and all.

  • Ana says:

Here’s the picture removed from the house ad.

  • sit ubu sit says:

Ha! What’s funny now is the way they now describe the pole dancing room as a “family room”.

  • Colin says:

    another annoying phrase is
“try and” instead of “try to”. please note media people…

  • Jesus Christ says:

Lol I like the S on Maori.

  • sit ubu sit says:

Bibi, it’s the same kitchen. The “long kitchen” shot is taken standing in front of the fridge.

What makes me laugh is the fact there are kids safety gates throughout the house everywhere – except in the “pole room”. Speaking of which, do you think if one of the kinds wins a trophy, Dad says “that’s going straight to the pole room”?

“Dad, what’s a dancing pole? A bloke wants $200 for the pair”. “Tell ‘im he’s dreaming son”.

  • Chicka says:

I love that bank ad. I wish I had the same at my work.

  • Ming says:

The horse birth! Needs a “don’t watch during lunch” warning.

  • Ana says:

It’s just a beautiful, natural, thing Ming! You might like to follow it with this chicken lays an egg clip.
