A Classy Place for a Shag and Other Choice Links
posted by Ana Samways at 10:16 am
Where to go for a classy shag in Wellington? How about small place called Ohtel? No it’s not a misspelling, it’s a clever play on the word “hotel”, combined with an exclamation of sexual satisfaction. Their website says they’re “open minded”, and their marketing is slick and sophisticated, which makes us wonder if they intended this glorious picture to be included in their latest newsletter?
Web meme update: After gaining attention by humiliating her now ex-husband on You Tube during an acrimonious divorce, Tricia Walsh (formerly Walsh-Smith), a TV actress whose claim to fame was appearing on the long-running BBC drama Grange Hill (she didn’t make it to the cast list though), has made a self-aware music video called (I’m Going) Bonkers. (NSFW warning: though it’s tamer than most modern R&B videos, she does dress like a dominatrix and hang from the ceiling)
Picture this: Very strange ID card from inside a Japanese-made wallet.
The Credit Crunch/Recession is the angle for every story these days: 1) Credit crunch casting: Empire magazine offers Hollywood some cheaper alternatives to expensive movie stars. Can’t afford Johnny Depp? Hire Russell Brand.
It’s my site and I’ll plug if I want to: My blog over at MSN, Not Really News, has the British version of our iconic “Bugger” ad — except of course they use the word “bollocks”. There’s also an impressive gallery of Swedish dance band outfits and a 1970 insurance company video with bad accident re-enactments here. And a swag of tacky maternity T-shirts.

A Russian site re-interprets the iconic Mena Suvari image from the film American Beauty.
Video: In the Head is a marvelous French animation about Antoine, who joins the army… I don’t want to give anything away, but it’s a delightfully quirky black comedy. Trust me.

“Our stay at the Ohtel was satisfactory but we were disappointed there were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room”

That pic is absolutely absurd!
