Fires In Victoria? Not According to 3 News Email Update
posted by Ana Samways at 12:57 pmMedia comment: Subscribers to the 3 News daily email newsletter may be wondering why the raging inferno across the ditch in Victoria didn’t make the news organisation’s email newsletter at lunchtime today.

There is no mention of fires in the World News headlines either…
Obama struggles to convince Republicans to support stimulus package
Reformist former president to stand again in upcoming Iranian election
China resorts to chemical cloud-seeding to fight devastating drought

FFS TV3, not only is your on demand content a slow lumbering beast with poor picture quality (it starts and stops like a learner driver bunny hopping), but this is what you send out to your audience?
With headlines like “Hell on Earth”, with Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd calling the arsonists mass murderers and with haunting pictures of burnt out station wagons huddled together all over the media — including the home page of 3 News.co.nz — there is no excuse for anyone working in news media not to know or understand the newsworthiness of this tragedy. This story should lead their bulletin. Instead the drowning of a puppy in Hawke’s Bay, nasty as it is, is given a higher priority.
