Ads: Last year Auckland ad agency Ogilvy came up with a shit-hot viral for Auckland Zoo. Now Saatchis has tried the viral approach for Wellington Zoo to attract the Valentine’s Day crowd for an adults only picnic. Unfortunately it doesn’t work. Using sex instead of shit, the audio is just too porno — it’s your basic female climaxing soundtrack with (hopefully) inadvertent connotations of bestiality. It’s uncomfortable viewing for me, as it probably is for family-friendly zoo bosses.

Local video: The PM’s dance routine at the Big Gay Out with entertainers Buffy and Bimbo deserves to be Benny Hillified (i.e. footage speeded up with the Benny Hill slapstick soundtrack)

A whole lotta f-ing: Every swear word, from every episode of the Sopranos in chronological order. Do I need the NSFW language tag?

Wired magazine compares the BMI of Playboy Playmates versus average women over the decades and concludes what we all know: ‘Today’s Playmates Are More Like Anime Figures Than Real Humans’.

Cute clip: Baby scared of Dad’s snoring. Bless.

Picture this: If you can bear to look at any more pictures of the devastation in Australia, go here. Boston.com’s excellent photo blog, The Big Picture, provides full screen size online pictures which do justice to the magnitude of the tragedy.

“New Zealand’s first zoo to get up close and personal to native treasures and endangered exotic animals.” – Wellington Zoo website.

    Hmmm…..

Boston.com’s “Big Picture” comes out about 2x/week. The photos are always great, and to be honest, offer something a bit more than our typical US-centric news. We in Massachusetts are a bit more open to the world ;) It’s worth following no matter where you are.
