Flying Snot in Government Ad
posted by Ana Samways at 9:55 amA graphic PSA from the South Australian Government featuring suited people, sneezing great volumes of snot in ultra slow motion, set to opera music. The campaign is designed to encourage Australians to get a flu jab.
What do you reckon? Sends a clear message or way too much information?

Only problem I’ve got with it is the music. It’s not showing anything that doesn’t happen in reality.

I think it’s great, but gross that’ll make the punters race to their GP for a flu jab!

My take away message was cover your face when youy sneeze, not go and get a flu jab. Doesn’t the tagline at the end say something to the effect of “slow the spread of flu” rather than “go and see your GP for a jab”?

I agree Ana, if anyone is interested in getting the flu jab and you do want to “slow the spread of flu”, definitely check visit this website – http://www.fightflu.co.nz. Some people are eligible for a FREE flu jab, including people 65+.

I’m a teacher. I get sick every year from children who have not been trained at home to cover their coughs and sneezes.

Apparently a powerful sneeze can produce nearly 40000 aerosol droplets. Ewww.
Great message to be teaching kids.
