Air NZ CEO in the Buff
posted by Ana Samways at 3:57 pm
Air New Zealand CEO Rob Fyfe is a bit of a silver fox, it has to be said — there’s definitely something a bit Anderson Cooper-ish about him — and there’s nothing he wouldn’t do for his brand.
Just yesterday, in an effort to spice up the dry old business pages, a Stuff poll dubbed him NZ’s Sexiest Businessman — and now he’s stripped off for the national carrier’s latest TV ad campaign.
Fyfe, along with a brave crew of Air New Zealand staff, will appear in a new ad starting on Sunday wearing nothing but body paint (and apparently a stringless g-string contraption, like a cricketer’s box). The idea being that the airline has nothing to hide like those sneaky manipulating budget carriers. Jordan Luck gets a break this time round, with the music royalties going Gin Wigmore’s way for her catchy tune “Under My Skin”.
UPDATE: Here’s the ad. Crikey, that’s one figure-hugging pilots uniform!
Here’s a sneak peek behind the scenes from the shoot … Would I get me kit off in the name of the Herald? Er, no. Unless they paid me enough to leave the country.

Anderson Cooper is just…amazing…sigh.

Just trying to figure out their target market for that advert. Only one woman in paint and the viewer was accompanied by his wife who was equally interested.
So they could be after single females aged 25 – 75, married swingers or lesbians.
Must be a big niche market!

I had to look twice to see if they were nekkid; the body painting looks so like clothes. It was a little too tame and I can’t believe You Tube has made it adult content.

That was hilarious…could have saved a packet on those Zambesi uniforms.

Absolutely brilliant ad. I hope it wins ad of the year award.

I watched this 4 times to see if they were actually naked then realised there was an actual advertisement message a the end…

Yikes – rather strange comment. I think their target market is people with a sense of humour?
Where on earth do lesbians come into it?

Congrats to the agency – for once a genuinely clever idea that communicates a clear brand message.

I’d bet my unpainted left bollock Anna is an associated ad wanker.
The ad is fun but people should never forget cabin crew spread diseases and should be treated with necessary caution.

Love it! Especially fun to see all the Air NZ staff so happy to do it, refreshing!

Great ad idea, so nicely illustrates the difference in fares between Air NZ and Virgin or Jetstar, nothing to hide!
‘Yikes’ and ‘Clint Flick’ sorry this ad doesn’t reach your end of the market, there’s not too much demand for losers!

Hmm. Could this also be a metaphor for the paint job they’re doing on their poor Zeal staff?
Yeah, Cooper’s a real hero getting in there with the hoipaloi of his on-the-ground (err, in the air)staff. Bet he wouldn’t take what they’re being paid though.

Yes Yikes! – because gay men don’t exist…
The beefy baggage handler is fine!
