Worst Book Titles and Other Choice Links
posted by Ana Samways at 11:56 am
The best and worst book titles, from The Vine.com.au. (They didn’t get Greg McGee’s classic stage play Foreskin’s Lament – genius title)
Media apocalypse: Pole dancer and sex nworkerLisa Lewis blogs for the Waikato Times and on Stuff.
Spare Room: Headline of the day.
Picture this: A New York Times slideshow showing the physical effects of the real estate bust in the US. Reminds me of a fantastic report on National Radio about the abandoned houses in Las Vegas. The reporter commented on being haunted by an unerving beeping sound where ever she went. She soon realised it was the sound of failing smoke detector batteries.
Visual: Tattoo location chart. What the locale of your ink really says about you.
Pop art: Classic Warner Brothers and Hanna-Barbera cartoons given a Sin City-style blood splatter makeover by pop artist James Cauty. Presenting the viewer with unrelenting acts of bloody, cartoon violence, which, in cartoon law, ultimately cannot cause fatal injury.
Video: Sarah Haskin takes the mickey out of advertising targeting women. This week, hair and laundry.
Beautiful Hair is respected everywhere…
Laundry is the women’s drug of choice…

NYT slideshow has been taken down after “questions were raised as to whether the images were digitally altered”.

Didn’t get, meaning didn’t understand the title…as in the character is nicknamed ‘Foreskin’.
