Always Blow On The Pie
posted by Ana Samways at 1:10 pmThis Police Ten-7 clip featuring a New Zealand Policeman and inadvertent comedian, was taken down from You Tube after influential tweeter Simon Pound spread the word. But now the good sorts at Screentime have put it back up, due to popular demand.
Here’s Police Ten-7 on Facebook.

This is George Bush in disguise.
“Thermonucular”’s the give-away….

Can we start a petition for Pie-cop to have his own show?
Seriously, he could run round “policing” table manners (all uncooked “joints” off the table), making sure that people chew properly before swallowing, writing tickets for tomato sauce use “all things in moderation, sir. I think you’ve had enough, don’t you?”

On reflection, this just shows what’s utterly wrong with law enforcement in New Zealand.
There’s not an iota of irony in the guy’s voice – it’s just something that he’s learned on a seminar, hasn’t taken it on board one bit and he’s just repeating it parrot-fashion.
Not a good look, as they say in Kiwi patois…

John B… You cannot be serious!! No irony?…
That copper’s voice is just massively over-loaded with typical kiwi bloke deadpan delivery…
(See what I did there…)
He knows he’s funny and he is determined not to let that knowledge slip out to the viewers.
That’s the way we roll.

Hmmmm…. maybe I missed the irony in John B’s post about the lack of irony.
Benefit of the doubt given. Ignore my previous.

Saw this when it screened, I’m sure it was years ago. A couple of seconds after the cop’s advice, the guy gets told to empty his pockets, and he has a bunch of stuff for breaking into cars. He gets arrested and never gets his pie. It’s so sad…

ahahaha i admire his commitment to keeping communities safer, together.
He should probably get his own show if he’s got more of these moments to come….
