Hit The Bitch and Other Choice Links
posted by Ana Samways at 12:07 pm
Hit the Bitch is the name of an anti-domestic violence campaign from Denmark. I say “anti” loosely because I’m not sure it isn’t promoting the idea of smacking women.
The campaign includes a game-style simulation. You play a man having an argument with a woman. At various points, the woman provokes you, like giving you the finger. The only way to end the game is to smack the girl until your score moves from 100% pussy (no hits) to 100% gangsta (around ten hits), only then will the girl fall to the floor, and you are told you are “100% Idiot“ – a half-hearted telling off in Danish.
I found it quite disturbing when I hit her. Go here. What do you think? (Via Jezebel )
Video link: The London Screen Archive has posted this clip of the city in 1927. As one You Tube Commenter says…
“The scenes in London were so obviously unlike the London I know it may as well have been another world. It was so achingly, obviously, blatantly a kinder, more civil, friendlier place…”
Picture this #1: Was Demi Moore Ralph-Laurenised?
Picture this #2: Remember kids, Santa is always watching you…always.
Speaking of the silly season… NZ Post want you to to design and build Christmas cards on their website; then they’ll print it out, post it and charge you. Nice idea, but I reckon anyone savvy enough to do that may as well send an e-card for free. Here are my favourite e-card sites – cynical cards, blunt cards and animated messages.

I like the NZ Post idea especially after watching S03E10 of Mad Men last night where the telegram company were trying to fight off the telephone companies. The same analogy rally – Postcards like Telegrams are real things you can touch and hold. e-Cards and phone calls are disposable.

I find Santa utterly terrifying. For me he ranks far less scary than a clown or talking dolls but marginally more scary than people dressed up like cartoon characters.

That wedding video is fake, I hope everyone realises that.

The NZ Post website is a big rip off (and worse version) of moonpig (www.moonpig.com.au) who give you a much wider variety of cards for every kind of occassion, not just xmas cards.

Wow, that HitTheBitch website is DISGRACEFUL. I have added comments to their Facebook site to decry it.
I suggest to everyone that they do the same. It’s disgusting.

Boo. They’ve decided to restrict ‘Hit the Bitch’ to just Danish visitors. Now how will my children learn to communicate?
