When editorial and advertising collide: “Ok, it’s a bit creepy reading this nzherald.co.nz story “Father chases off man in girls’ room” with the new BK King mascot peering through the article, ripping the page,” writes a reader.
Strange new products: Toe lingerie.

Party people: Looking for a new way to drink shots? Why not make your own ice sculpture with these classy moulds. I give you The Ice Luge (The slogan is “Pour at the hip, drink from the tip”) and The Ice Rack (its slogan is “Take some shooters from the hooters.”) This is how you use the Ice Rack, in case you hadn’t worked it out.
Fun art: Huge T-Rex garden sculpture. Awesome!

Cats have a flight function when they see danger – they want to run or go to a high, safe place. Putting them on a lead is working against their natural tendancy and only stresses them out. Maybe you can teach them from an early age but a skittery cat is a skittery cat and leashing them is just going to cause them immense anxiety. (TDC – cat obsessed poster)

You can leash-walk cats quite effectively. I’ve done it myself. But not like that. The cat’s tail is curled up her back legs; she’s highly stressed and has gone limp out of anxiety – since she can’t run. This isn’t even entertaining – just abusive. To train them you let them wear the harness periodically for two weeks without the leash attached. Then attach the leash without holding onto it. Then hold onto it for small amounts until they’re used to it. Once they walk comfortably with you inside, only then do you take them out. And some won’t take to it and they shouldn’t be forced.

Why would you walk a cat on a lead anyway? My cat walks beside me when I walk the dog but I’m not going to force it to walk with me for my entertainment.
It’s a cat. If you want to walk an animal then get a damn dog.
Sheesh – what is wrong with people?
