The Australian Sex Party and Other Choice Links

Media and Politics: With the help of some subtle-as-a-brick double entendre and a model who looks way younger than her years, The Australian Sex Party tries to encourage young people to vote with this advert. Shudder. Read more here.
What to do if you spot a homosexual … A graphic novel “to educate soldiers about the U.S. Army’s 1993 Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy”. According to Sociological Images, it covers what what to do if you have “credible evidence” that someone is engaging in homosexual activities (being gay is okay, but doing gay things is not), the Army’s anti-harassment policy and provides scenarios of situations that might occur and how a soldier should react.
Theatre: Thanks to the internet the luvvies (theatre people) can now have a tanty at a theatre reviewer who didn’t gush all over their play. Maybe these two thespians need to learn the art of objectivity (i.e. suck it up)…
New favourite blog: My Fault, I’m Female, which is a bit misleading (or subtle) for a feminist blog where women share stories of when they have been dumbfounded by gender clichés throughout their lives.
“We were at a family function. My son needed a nappy change, so my husband picked him up, collected the nappy bag and went off to do the necessary. At which point I got a chorus of ‘Oooh, aren’t you lucky?’ and ‘Haven’t you got him well-trained?’ from the women. And murmurs about being able to see who wore the trousers in our house from the men. I don’t know who should have been more insulted – me for the implication that he was somehow doing ‘my job’ for me, or my husband, for the implication that he was either a) under the thumb or b) so stupid he needed to be ‘trained’ to change a nappy. ‘Father Changes Nappy in 21st Century Shock!’.”
News: Dude I’m not really a prostitute, I’m just walking along the street…
Video: The Onion has scooped other media with the story of Jennifer Aniston adopting a 33-year-old boyfriend from Africa. Aniston’s single-child-free-ness seems to preclude any possibility of happiness – I mean what else has she got? Besides a Hollywood career, heaps of dosh, freedom…
