Eli “Paperboy” Reed

Soul singer Eli “Paperboy” Reed is coming to NZ in April to play shows in Auckland & Wellington. Reed is one of the modern soul revival’s most talented up-and-comers. In recent times he has toured with Duffy, Guster, Franz Ferdinand and The Hives, as well as performing at world-class festivals such as Lollapalooza, The Falls Festival, Montreal Jazz Festival, Fuji Rock, Life is Good Festival and Voodoofest. He’ll be bringing his stonking live show to Auckland & Wellington after performing at the East Coast Blues & Roots Festival in Australia.

That’s all good stuff to put on your resume, but it’s his talent that’s important. And this white kid is strongly influenced by the likes of Wilson Pickett, Sam Cooke and Solomon Burke.

New album Come and Get It combines hard hitting soul with softer ballads. It’s his first major label release, although his earlier release Roll With Me is also well worth wrapping your senses around. Check out our review of Roll With Me here.

Tickets go on sale 9am Monday 21st March for the following shows:
Friday 29th April – Galatos, Auckland Tickets through www.eventfinder.co.nz or Real Groovy
Saturday 30th April – Bodega, Wellington Tickets available through 1-night.co.nz
