Argent was formed in 1969 by two former Zombies, keyboardist Rod Argent and bass player Chris White. While their biggest hit was White’s ‘Hold Your Head Up’, they also recorded this original version of ‘God Gave Rock and Roll to You’, written by guitarist/keyboardist Russ Ballard.
